Nachdem BEL ETAGE letztes Jahr mit Videoarbeiten, Lichtinstallationen, Diaprojektionen und Leuchtk\u00e4sten im Dunkeln strahlte, tritt das diesj\u00e4hrige Ausstellungsprojekt am Gallery Weekend 2011 ins helle Tageslicht. Rund um den Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz werden zahlreiche Arbeiten zu finden sein, die sich inhaltlich und formal mit der vorgefundenen Realit\u00e4t an diesem speziellen Ort auseinandersetzen. Das Performative, das Tempor\u00e4re und das Verg\u00e4ngliche spielen dabei eine gro\u00dfe Rolle. Die ausstellenden K\u00fcnstler sind dazu aufgefordert, neue Arbeiten zu pr\u00e4sentieren. Die fl\u00fcchtige Existenz dieser k\u00fcnstlerischen Intervention an diesem durch Kunst und Kultur stark gepr\u00e4gten Ort veranschaulicht dessen charakteristisches Merkmal der historischen Diskontinuit\u00e4t. After having shown several videos, light-installations, slideshows and illuminated boxes last year, this year on Gallery Weekend 2011 BEL ETAGE is going outside into the daylight. All around the Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin Mitte we will find many interesting works, concerning the topical and formal reality of that special spot. Our short-lived reality, performance and sustainability will be the main themes of the exhibition. The participating artists are invited to create something new, which stands out of the artist\u2019s common work. The temporary existence of these artworks at such a place of cultural and artistic relevance visualizes the historical discontinuity of the space. Something new and unique will be created right there, where many changes occurred in history.
